Martha (Marty) Snyder, age 82, formerly of LaRue, died Thursday June 16, 2011 at 11:30 AM at Marion General Hospital.
She was born March 5, 1929 near Norton, Ohio to the late George LeRoy and Eva Mae (Cook) Stoner.
On October 21, 1950 she married John R. Snyder, they then moved to LaRue where they began farming, and he died February 17, 2004.
She is survived by daughter; Connie (Robbin) Speck of Green Camp and son; D. J. (Carol) Snyder of Columbus. Grandchildren; Kyle Speck, Kim (Zack) Stutler, and Kacie Speck, Great Granchildren; Sophie, Addie, and Ellie Stutler. Brother; Darrell (Judy) Stoner of Marion and sister; Donna Rae Campbell of California.
Mrs. Snyder was a homemaker, graduated from Pleasant High School in 1946, and Beautician School of Cosmology. Member of the Phillippi-Clement Post 101 American Legion Auxiliary, LaRue Mother’s Club since 1952, 40 and 8 Auxiliary, Farm Bureau. Worked at the Marion Depot and the Marion Hotel in her early years. Enjoyed family and friends especially Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Monday June 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Matt Brent. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home in LaRue from noon until service time on Monday.
