Dorothy E. Townsend age 89 of Green Camp, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011.
She was born December 21, 1921 in Green Camp, Ohio to the late Bernard and Mae (Tressler) Lyon.
On October 28, 1942 she married Frank Edward Townsend, he preceded her in death on March 14, 1982.
Dorothy was a lifetime resident of Green Camp, Ohio where she was a member of the Green Camp Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon (John) Beard of Marion, OH., Paula Burns of Marion, OH., six grandchildren, Lisa Hamm, David Justice, Angela Griffith, Sara Sipes, Jackie Yates, Kristin Malo, sixteen great grandchildren, four great great grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Lester Wilkins and Eugene Lyon, and a sister, Eula Hendrix.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 4 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date with Rev. Jack Townsend officiating.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jeannie Jackson (sister in law), and friends, Ann & Bud Young for making the last few years more enjoyable.
