James L. Ault Sr., age 86 of Marion, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at his residence.
He was born July 9, 1925 in Marion, Ohio to the late Walter H. and Esther M. (Hopkins) Ault.
On October 28, 1944 he married Bertha P. (Oehler) Ault, she preceded him on November 6, 1976.
James was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1942 – 1945 during WWII. He was a member of Central Baptist Church for many years, and was employed at Erie Lakawanna / Conrail Railroad for 39 1/2 years as a car repair man.
He is survived by his son, James L. (Joan) Ault Jr. of Prospect, OH., 4 grandchildren, Vicki Ault, Lori Ault, Steve (Shannon) Ault, Greg (Angie) Ault, 3 great grandchildren, A.J. Ault, Alisyn Ault, Sarah Rose Ault, a brother, George Ault of Raytown, MO., step daughter, Pamela McEldowney of Marion, OH., and numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
James was preceded in death by his son, Ronald E. Ault, and previous wives, Barbara J. Ault and Elva M. Ault.
Funeral Services for James will be held Monday, August 15, 2011 @ 10 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Strother officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery where a military service will be held. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 14, 2011 from 4 – 7 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of James to Marion General Hospice or to Central Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
