Susie L. Weaver, of Marion, went to her eternal home in Heaven on Tuesday August 16, 2011. She has been waiting to join her Lord and Savior.
She was born in Petersburg, Va. on March 4, 1911.
She married Gerald Weaver and had a good life together for over 65 years. On May 2, 1998, Gerald preceded her in death.
She had been a Marion resident for 90 years. She worked at the silk mill for several years.
She is survived by two children, Gary Weaver and Geraldine (David) Goon of Marion.
In addition to her husband, two children preceded her in death, Donald and Richard Weaver as well as twelve sisters and brothers.
She has five grandchildren; Charles Goon Tn, Coletta Burns Oh, Connie Blevins Oh, David Goon Tn, and Dean Goon Oh; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Monday August 22, 2011 at 2:30 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Charles Reed. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Marion Manor for their special care and attention given to Susie over the past five years. Thanks also to Hospice Team, who made her passing peaceful.
