Janis Berridge, age 80 of Marion, formerly of Prospect, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at her home.
She was born November 23, 1930 in Richwood to the late Clarence and Jane (Staley) Shoup.
On January 14, 1948 she married Carl S. Berridge and he died September 15, 1978. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dana Shoup.
She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Avenue Church of Christ in Marion. She had worked at JC Penney in Marion for many years. Janis was a life-long Cleveland Indians fan and an avid OSU Buckeye Football supporter.
She is survived by three sons, Rob (Mary) Berridge, Prospect; Jim (Deb) Berridge, Prospect; John (Melissa) Berridge, Marion; three daughters, Karla (Ron) Terrell, New Castle, Indiana; Janice (Dave) Hunsicker, Prospect; Joan Berridge, Green Camp; ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; two sisters, Georgeana Kuba and Edna Williams her best friend, Diego, and her good friend, Sue Smith.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Vernon Avenue Church of Christ, 947 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion, OH 43302 with Pastor Phil Williams officiating. Inurnment will take place in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service beginning at 9:00 AM.
