Ida L. (Dimples) Bracy, age 70, departed this life on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, Ohio following an extended illness.

Born Ida Lee Wright on June 11, 1941 in Greenwood, Mississippi to the late Nellie E. Wade and John Cleveland (JC) Wright Sr., Ida was given the nickname of Dimples (Dimp) because of the deep dimples she would display each time she smiled.

In 1960, Dimples met Samuel L. Bracy Sr. and on April 8, 1961 they were wed in holy matrimony.

Dimples loved life and her children and grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was a member of the True Faith COGIC in Marion. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and doing anything which involved the outdoors. She also enjoyed watching old movies, reading novels and her favorite past-time was completing word-finds.

Dimples worked for the National City Bank of Marion for 20 years and then worked for Contronics Sytems, Inc. of Columbus until her illness forced her to retire in 1992.

She is survived by her husband; Samuel L. Bracy Sr. of Delaware, a daughter; Tammy S. Bracy of Columbus, 2 sons; Samuel L. Bracy Jr. of Columbus and Strother (Melody) Bracy of Delaware, 2 step-daughters; Maria Worthington Chandler and Jenna (Carl) Gibson-Terry of Columbus, a step-son; James Gregory (Punita) Simmons of Marion, a sister; Ella R. Cochran and a brother; Rev. Michael J. Wade, both of Marion. Dimples has 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son; Jerry Martin Wade, 2 daughters; Sandra and Aretha Bracy, a step-daughter; Cynthia Richardson, a brother; John (JC) Wright Jr. and 2 sisters; Rosemary Wade Hall and Ruthie Mae Moore.
