Margaret Pauline Ridge, 84, of Marysville

Margaret Pauline Ridge, age 84 of Marysville, died Friday evening September 30, 2011 at the Gables at Green Pastures in Marysville.

She was born October 11, 1926 in Richwood to the late Wayne and Lauretta (Scharf) Brown.

On November 3, 1944 she married Hugh Ridge Jr. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in LaRue and he died July 18, 2002.  She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Hugh Ridge; a son-in-law, Ron Cunningham; a grandson, Christopher Cunningham; and a brother, Paul E. “Bud” Brown.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville and Carpe Diem Club.  Until her husband’s death she enjoyed attending craft shows, displaying their many grapevine trees and wreaths.  The most important thing in her life was being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Toby (Larry) Collier, Marysville; Barbara (Duane) Kavanagh, Richwood; Laurie (Mike) Goddard, Richwood; eight grandchildren, Chad (Melissa) Cunningham, Curt (Lisa) Cunningham, Carrie (James Dean) Cunningham, Amy (Jeff) Price, Molly (Marc) Mendoza and Brooke (Brian) Foster, Abby Goddard; and Drew (Sarah) Goddard; great-grandchildren, Keaton and Kenzie Cunningham; Chloe and Callie Cunningham; Nicholas and Graham Price; Mac and Hank Mendoza; and Dakota Dean; brother-in-law, Ralph (Helen) Ridge, Richwood; sisters-in-law, Willela Sanchez, Tucson, Arizona; Margaret Jane (Stanley) Beery, Richwood; Beverly Ridge, Richwood.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville with Rev. David Poliafico officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4 to 7:30 PM on Tuesday at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood where a Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 PM.

Memorial gifts may be made to Richwood North Union Alumni Association, in care of the funeral home.
