Mae Linkous, age 83, of Sparta, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 12, 1926 in Keystone, West Virginia to the late Ralph and Gladys (Gillenwater) Young.
Mae was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother and could always be found attending her children and grandchildren’s events. Mae was a very spiritual woman and served in many leadership roles at the Sparta Advent Christian Church. Mae was an avid bowler with the lady’s of Chesterville.
She is survived by her son, Michael Edward (Diana) Linkous of Marengo, two daughters, Betty (James) Gray of Marengo and Linda (Greg) Sands of Centerburg, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Linkous of Sparta, eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, a sister, Peggy Story of Sacramento, California and a half brother, Kenneth (Patricia) Young of Greensboro, South Carolina.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Edward Linkous, a son, Robert Wesley Linkous and a brother, James Wesley Young.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM. Rev. Dave Keefer will be officiating. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery in Sparta.
