Marion General Hospital recently presented David Dirr the Manager of the Year Award. MGH says the award recognizes and celebrates overall excellence in management and leadership, as exhibited by the ability to share organizational vision, and demonstrate commitment to service orientation and continuous quality improvement.
The award also recognizes an individual who has excellent rapport with staff, patients, visitors, and peers, and who demonstrates leadership in facilitating change.
Dirr, manager of partial hospital services, was nominated by eight associates. Dirr was praised by his staff and peers as someone who is strong, honest, fair, and dedicated to his job. He is respected as the manager who has kept the partial hospitalization program running for 20 years, and the words heard from many of his patients are compassionate, caring and versatile in meeting the needs of his clients.
Dirr was presented with the award by Eric Wallis, Marion General Hospital CNO/vice president of patient care, at a surprise celebration that honored him for outstanding service to the hospital.
