The Opportunity Job Network is bringing their mobile Job-a-Bago to Marion on Saturday, June 9, to help veterans learn about employment and training opportunities that are available to them. The first annual Veterans Employment and Training Services (VETS) event is only open to military veterans.
Opportunity Job Network says their goal is to assist in finding and maintaining employment, provide information on Veteran Services and Programs, and reduce a little of the stress in the process.
The VETS event will take place at the Marion National Guard Armory, 2561 Harding Highway East (West side of Marion Industrial Center), on Saturday, June 9, and will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at approximately 5:00 p.m.
Veterans attending should bring a copy of their DD 214.
The Job-a-Bago will be onsite to:
- Conduct interviews for various employers.
- Develop and complete resumes for you and your deployed family members.
- Assist with interviewing Skills and Techniques.
- Provide Information on Veteran programs.
- Provide assistance with Ohio Edison electric bill (bring your electric bill, it must be at least one day late)
The Mobile Veterans Health and Services Unit will be on site to:
- Provide onsite health screenings
- Provide prescription assistance
- Enroll eligible Veterans into the VA Healthcare System
Local Veterans Representative from Ohio Workforce Development will be on site to
- Provide information on Veteran employment assistance programs.
- Provide information on overcoming employment barriers.
