The Marion Concert Band will kick off their summer concert series Sunday, June 18, at the Erickson Pavilion in McKinley Park in Marion. Various groups will perform there each Sunday evening at 7:00pm during the summer months.
Attendance at the concerts is free, although donations are accepted to offset expenses of the scheduled performers. The exception is the Marion Concert Band, which donates its time and energy for the project.
The 2012 schedule is:

- June 24 – Jane Horton
- July 1 – Palace Theatre Big Band
- July 8 – Marion Concert Band
- July 15 – 4 The Record
- July 22 – Northside Jazz Band
- July 29 – The Marionaires
- August 5 – Marion Concert Band
- August 12 – John Kennedy Big Band
The Marion Concert Band is also seeking donations from individuals and companies to help continue the series this summer for the community. Donors are recognized in the printed program distributed at each concert, by announcement during the performance, and by mention at their web site, www.myspace.com/marionconcertband. The Marion Concert Band is a registered 501 (C) (3) charity (#34-1492139), making contributions tax deductible.
