City Council Holding Finance, Special Council Meeting

Marion City Council will hold a Finance Committee meeting on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. A special full City Council will be held following the finance meeting.

The Finance Committee meeting starts at 6:30pm to discuss:

  • Charging City of Marion income taxes on winnings from gambling and bingo.
  • An appropriation in the Capital Fund for the aquatic center construction for final building costs.

The full City Council meeting will start at 6:45pm, or immediately following the Finance Committee meeting. The agenda includes:

  • Allowing the service director to prepare plans and specifications, and advertise for bids for the South Prospect Street Sanitary Sewer Lining Project.
  • Authorizing the transfer of real estate from the city-owned Marion Land Bank Program to Habitat for Humanity of Marion. The group plans to construct a home on the property that became part of the land bank following the demolition of an abandoned home.

Marion City Council meets on the second floor of City Hall. All meetings are open to the public.
