Marion Area Health Center, located at 1050 Delaware Avenue in Marion, is the site of the annual Diabetes Drive-Thru from 7:30 am to 10:45 am on Saturday, August 18. This free screening allows area residents 18 years and older to be checked for diabetes, free of charge, while remaining in their vehicles.
Health officials say that fasting for eight hours before being tested is recommended.
Those attending will receive free health information, give-aways and refreshments. The screening takes place rain or shine.
Dr. Carmen Skinner, internist, serves as the physician advocate for this event which is co-sponsored by Marion General Hospital Foundation, Marion Area Health Center, Smith Clinic, and WMRN-AM.
