New Store Hopes to Spread the Christian Word

A new store opened recently in downtown Marion and hopes to meet the needs of long-time Christians, those newly finding their way, and those that are yet to come.

Hope Crossing Christian Bookstore is located inside Charleston Place at 187 West Center Street in Marion.

The store features books, materials, gifts, and music, all with a Christian message.

The store is owned by Dottie McGinty and Jeanie Green, who says she has worked for Christian bookstores for over 16 years.

“It’s always been on my heart,” explained Green, who says she has been talked about the idea of opening her own store with her friend and partner for years. With the closing of Shepherd’s Nook a few months ago, Green and McGInty say they felt the time was right.

This Friday, June 25, is the official grand opening. The store is open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.
