This morning, Thursday, June 24, the MARMET Drug Task Force served a search warrant at 139 West Walnut Street in the City of Marion in connection to a drug trafficking investigation. During the search, officers say they found drugs and made one arrest.
MARMET Detectives were assisted by the Marion Police Department Special Response Team and Detectives with the Marion Police Department.
Officials say this investigation was spurred by complaints by residents in the area of W. Walnut Street who utilized the TIPS Line and regular calls to the Marion Police Department, complaining about a high volume of traffic and suspicious activity at the residence.
MARMET detectives report they seized $739.30 in cash, $400 in money orders, a 1996 Mercury Sable and other personal property, in addition to 28.6 grams in crack cocaine and 9.7 grams of marijuana.
34-year-old Antonio King was arrested and was transported to the Multi-County Correctional Center on charges of Trafficking in Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine.
MARMET officers say they are grateful for the support of the community and their continued use of the TIPS line to provide information that assists in removing drug traffickers from our neighborhoods.
