Franklin D. Acord passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 in Marion at the age of 66. He was born November 11, 1944 in Bolt, West Virginia to the late John and Minnie (Dickens) Acord.

Franklin was a United States Army Veteran. He was a loving brother, and will be greatly missed.

Bertha L. Snyder, age 97, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Marion Manor Nursing Home in Marion, Ohio. She formerly lived in the Franklin and Delaware County areas and until recently at Marion Rotary Towers.

She was born September 29, 1913, in Sedalia, Missouri to the late Elmer A. and Eva (Bradley) Norton.

Georgia E. Parish age 94 of Marion, Ohio passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Kingston Residence of Marion.

She was born March 17, 1917 in Marion, Ohio to the late George and Bertha (Young) Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete, two sisters and two brothers.

Steven C. Armbruster, age 51 of Caledonia, passed away on Friday evening, at Marion General Hospital.

Steven was born August 26th, 1959 in Wellston, Ohio the son of William Armbruster, Jr. and Betty J. (Smith) Armbruster-Keirns, his mother survives in Marion.

Martha A. Gilsdorf, age 95, of Marion, died Friday morning, April 1, 2011, at Heartland of Marion following over a two year illness.

On February 11, 1916, Martha was born in Byesville, Ohio, the 9th of ten children of the late Charles and Nancy (Coulter) Anderson.  She graduated from Byesville High School in the Class of 1934.

Charles H. (Chuck) Fricker, age 83, of the Meeker area, died Thursday March 31, 2011 at 3:53 PM at the Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born April 25, 1927 in Lakewood, Ohio to the late Harry Andrew and Anna (Borsch) Fricker. On November 5, 1950 he married Norma Jean Anderson and she survives.

James R. Mason age 78 of Marion, Ohio passed away at home on March 31, 2011.

He was born May 10, 1932 in Marion, Ohio to the late Merle Mason and Lucille (Smith). He was preceded in death by his son, James R. Mason Jr., and a great granddaughter, Tiffany Scott.

Howard W. Cover, a.k.a. “Papa” or “Cedric” Cover, age 78, of Mount Gilead, died early Tuesday morning, March 29, 2011, at his residence surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness.

On June 28, 1932, Howard was born in Morrow County, Ohio, the son of the late Earl and Janet (Garverick) Cover.

Garland Clyde Roush, age 89, of Mount Gilead, died Sunday evening March 27, 2011 at Country View of Sunbury.

On October 11, 1921, Clyde was born in Graham Station, West Virginia, the son of the late Garland and Opal C. (Lieving) Roush.

Ronald E. "Ron" Bateman age 57 of Marion, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born June 7, 1953 in Delaware, Ohio to the late Kenneth W. and Margaret J. (Lauck) Bateman.
