Jerri “Grandma Boo” Hess, age 72 of Ashley passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, April 9, 2010 at home.

She was born on December 19, 1937 in Columbus to the late Charles and Eleanor (Lawton) Gordon. Formerly of Delaware, she had been an Ashley resident since 1989.

Virginia Maxine Sherman, age 87

Virginia Maxine Sherman, age 87, died Thursday afternoon, April 8, 2010 at the Morrow Manor Nursing Center in Chesterville.

She was born in West Liberty, Ohio on March 16, 1923, the daughter of the late Fred C. and Lieudelle (Bosart) Davie.

Guy M. Chapman, age 64, of Bucyrus

Guy M. Chapman, age 64, of Bucyrus, died Wednesday April 7, 2010 at 10:16 PM at O.S.U. Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born September 2, 1945 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Hershel H. and Wavie M. (Hayes) Chapman. On December 20, 1987 in the Fairway-Waycraft gym he married the former Brenda Shearer Roseberry and she survives.

Earl M. McCall age 53 of Marion

Earl M. McCall age 53 of Marion, Ohio passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Marion General Hospital.

He was born September 5, 1956 in Canton, Ohio to the late Orville C. McCall and Shirley A. (Collins) McCall-Springer. On July 2, 1979 he married Ruth A. (Hackworth).

Earl graduated from Marion Harding High School on 1979, he was employed at J-Lenco in Larue, Ohio for 17 years and Silver Line in Marion, Ohio for the past 2 years.

S. Rex Hogsett, age 72, of Marion

S. Rex Hogsett, age 72, of Marion , died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, April 6, 2010, at his residence.

On July 11, 1937, Rex was born in Seebert , West Virginia , the son of the late Charles F. and Mary (Grimes) Hogsett. He went on to graduate from Hillsboro High School in West Virginia.

Jason Neal Brown, 36, of Marion

Jason Neal Brown age 36 passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010 at his residence.

He was born March 23, 1974 in Marion, Ohio to James N. and Suzan (McPeak) Brown. On March 12 2002 he married Nicole (Ulery) Brown.

Jason was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them and his friends, and always was willing to do odd jobs for anyone that needed help. In his spare time he enjoyed going fishing and drag racing. He was owner and operator of R.C.R. Construction in Marion.

Ralph C. McDaniel, 66, of Marion

Ralph C. McDaniel, 66, of Marion passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Marion General Hospital.

He was born December 30, 1943 in Rutledge, Tennessee to the late Isaac G. and Birda (Bryant) McDaniel. He was married to Anna (Lynn) McDaniel, who survives in Marion, on June 10, 1972 in Belleville, Ohio.

Ralph was a Untied States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of American Legion Post 162, and was a life member of the D.A.V. He was a Pleasant High School graduate. Ralph loved to fish, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Anna Jane Haley age 87 of Belleville, Ohio, formerly of Marion

Anna Jane Haley age 87 of Belleville, Ohio, formerly of Marion, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at MedCentral Health Care in Mansfield, Ohio.

Born September 27, 1922 in Marion, Ohio to the late Joseph F. and Mary Belle (Gough) Sens. On October 27, 1946 Anna married Charles F. Haley, she passed away November 13, 2007.

Thomas Marvin Lines, Jr., age 46, of Marion

Thomas Marvin Lines, Jr., age 46, of Marion, gave up his earthly body and soul and moved on to a better place following his death at his home with his loving family by his side on Sunday, April 4, 2010.

Born on January 22, 1964, in Marion, to Thomas Marvin Sr., and Vera A. (Clark) Lines. Both are surviving.

Thomas had worked at Elite Marble in Marion, Heritage Marble in Columbus, and Union Tank Car in Marion.

Ruth Marie Allen, age 89 of Richwood

Ruth Marie Allen, age 89 of Richwood, died Monday evening, April 5, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Union County.

She was born in a log house in Agosta on August 16, 1920 to the late Fred and Iva Belle (Heil) Sigrist.

She was Past Worthy Matron of the former Prospect Chapter 69 OES and the former Mt. Carmel Chapter 42 OES twice, a member of Mary Chapter 9 OES in Marysville, Past Deputy of the Pythian Sisters, Prospect. She taught Sunday school at Richwood First United Methodist Church. She had been a census taker around the Green Camp area.
