By posting your classified ad on Marion Online, you agree that ad is in compliance with our guidelines. Marion Online reserves the right to edit, reject, re-classify, or cancel any ad at any time and without prior notice. Neither Marion Online nor its parent company Neighborhood Image (referred to here on out as Marion Online) shall be liable for any loss or expense that results from an error in or omission of an advertisement. No refunds will be issued for early cancellation of an ad.
By posting an ad here, you agree to the following statement:
I agree that I am solely responsible for the content of all classified ads that I post and that I will indemnify Marion Online and its parent company Neighborhood Image and hold them harmless for any losses or damages to myself or to others that may result directly or indirectly from any ads that I post here.
By posting an ad here, you further agree to the following guidelines:
- No foul or otherwise inappropriate language will be tolerated. Ads in violation of this rule are subject to being removed without warning.
- No racist, hateful, or otherwise offensive comments will be tolerated.
- No ad promoting activities that would be illegal under the laws of the State of Ohio, the United States, or of the state or country of domicile of the person posting the ad shall be allowed.
- Ads for handguns or rifles are not allowed.
- To place a free ad for an animal for sale, the maximum “adoption fee” for any pet younger than 1 year old is $25.
- Any ad that appears to be merely a test posting, a joke, or otherwise insincere or non-serious is subject to removal.
- Please avoid using all capital letters in the title or content. Many consider the use of all caps as “shouting” on the internet. If your intent is to make the ad more visible, you can elect to “Feature” your ad for a small fee.
Classified Ad Fees
While most of these classified ad postings on Marion Online are free, some categories require payment of a fee. These “paid” categories include:
- All items in Announcements,
- All Daycare/Babysitting sections except for Wanted
- All Business Opportunities sections except for Wanted
- Help Wanted section in Employment
- Puppies/Kittens and animals for sale that were bred for that purpose
- All Real Estate sections except for Wanted
Attempts to submit ads into paid categories without payment, or attempts to submit these types of ads into inappropriate free categories may subject the users account to be suspended.
Any ad submitted by a business is subject to a fee of $14 for a 14-day posting. A “business” is any activity that is done regularly on a full or part-time basis to earn a profit. This includes buying and reselling items, MLM’s, childcare, handyman services, repair services, breeding of animals for sale, firewood for sale, items wanted for the sole reason of resale (including scrap metal or cellphones) and more.
Restrictions on Vehicle Ads – vehicle ads are limited to two free ads per user within a 14-day period. Additional ads will require payment of a fee of $14 for a 14-day ad. Car lots, dealers, or resellers are not eligible for free ads (they are considered a business) and must pay for a business ad.
Multiple posting for the same item or sale is prohibited. Repeated attempts at multiple posting may subject the users account to suspension. There is a limited of 10 active free ads per user at any one time.
Free ads may be placed once every 14 days per item or event. Attempts at multiple posting or re-posting to improve an ads position is unfair to other users. Repeated attempts at multiple posting or re-posting could result in suspension. A “Featured Ad” option is available to keep your ad at or near the top of it’s category for $15 for two weeks. This may be accomplished by selecting the “Featured Ad” option when placing your ad.
Violations of Guidelines
Any attempts at circumventing the guidelines of Marion Online may result in the cancellation of classified ads without prior notice and the suspension of offending accounts. Marion Online reserves the ultimate discretion as to which ads, if any, are in violation of our guidelines.
Other Marion Online Classifieds Notes
Free classified ads are manually approved by our editors. While we make our best effort to update multiple times per day, ads may take up to 24 hours to be visible on the site. That time may be extended on weekends and holidays.
If placing an ad that requires a payment, you can make that payment by credit card through PayPal (you do not have to have an account) or you may mail your payment (made out to Neighborhood Image) to 165 West Center Street, Suite 205, Marion, Ohio 43302.
No refunds will be issued for paid ads or paid options. In the event of technical failure on our end, paid ads or ads with paid options may be offered an extended time of listing or a future credit may be issued at our option.
