Women are digging in to help Habitat for Humanity of Marion County Ohio, Inc. (HFHMCOI) make home ownership a reality for the Jiles family. On Saturday, May 10, 2014, a female crew will help the Jiles build their home as a part of Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program.

This house will add to the over 1,500 Habitat homes built through this program by women throughout the United States. It is the first Lowe’s Women Build undertaken by HFHMCOI. The program, underwritten by Lowe’s, gives women the opportunity to learn construction skills and to move children out of poverty housing.

HFHMCOI’s Women Build will take place on May 10, 2014 from 8:00am to 2:00pm at the 2014 build site, 561 Mound Street. Activities include a bake sale on site; the public is invited to shop the baked goods, see the build site, and get more information about Habitat for Humanity, including the ReStore.
