The Marion Palace Theatre will stage the high-energy, singing and dancing, romantic comedy “Legally Blonde: The Musical” for five performances in July 2014.
This award-winning Broadway musical sensation is based on the hit movie of the same name and follows college sweetheart and homecoming queen Elle Woods, played by Sara Grote, as she puts down the credit card, hits the books and heads for Harvard Law School in pursuit of her boyfriend Warner Huntington III, played by Eric Julian Walker, who just dumped her for someone more serious. At school, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex-boyfriend. However, with the help of her Chihuahua, Bruiser, and her new-found friends: a quirky law-student named Emmett, played by Blake Huffaker, and bull-dog-toting-hairdresser Paulette, played by Kristi Wink, she ends up defying expectations realizing her true potential.
As the cast of more than 50 members perform peppy musical numbers such as “Omigod You Guys,” “So Much Better,” “Take It Like a Man,” and “Bend and Snap,” audience members will cheer on the adorable heroine as she moves away from the social whirl of California campus life to Harvard’s halls of justice.
