Absentee Ballots Now Available

Absentee ballots for the May 4, 2010 Primary Election are now available at the Marion County Board of Elections office.

Absentees may be voted at the board office, 222 West Center Street, Marion, during regular hours Monday thru Friday.

They may also be requested mailed. This request must be in writing and can be mailed to the board office. Request must be signed by the voter, and must provide the birth date and one of the following: Your Ohio driver’s license number, or the last 4 digits of your social security number. or a current and valid photo identification, a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that shows your name and address.

No phone or faxed requests are accepted.

Voters hospitalized on Election Day because of medical emergency may apply for absentee ballots until 3:00 p.m. election day. Voters in rehabilitation facilities are encouraged to request absentee ballots prior to Election Day.

Absentee ballots, other than out of county must be received by the board by 7:30 pm election day. Out of the country civilian and armed services absentee ballots must be postmarked before the close of the polls May 4th and received by the board no later than May 14th.

Board of Elections is opened 8:30 am to 4:30 pm weekdays, and will be opened 8:30 to 12:00 on Saturday May 1st for absentee voting.
