The Larry R. Yoder Prairie Nature Center will hold their sixth annual Prairie Plant Sale at the east side portico of Maynard Hall, Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the Ohio State Marion campus, 1465 Mount Vernon Avenue. Once you enter the campus, follow the signs for the sale and for parking.
The sale is an opportunity to purchase native prairie plants (including wildflowers and grasses) from The Prairie Nature Center. Prairie staff will help you pick out species that fit your garden and assist you with planting tips.
The Prairie Plant Sale includes plants native to the prairie, such as big bluestem, indian grass, switch grass, nodding wild onion, rye, partridge pea, black eyed susan, gray-headed coneflower, New England aster, purple coneflower and much, more.
Donations to support the Prairie Nature Center will be accepted for purchase of all prairie plants. Those who have attended the Prairie Plant Sale in previous years are asked to bring any unused pots or plant containers that could be donated back to the prairie.
Although prairie plants are sold on a donation only basis, those who bring empty planters or pots, or purchase flats of plants should receive a discount off the suggested donation price.
If you would like to make a large pre-sale order or have any question please contact Emily Meyer at 740-725-6269.
