The City of Marion has announced an upcoming civil service exam for people between the ages of 18 and 30 interested in becoming a city firefighter.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants with an honorable discharge from the US Military, with a state of Ohio Paramedic Certificate, or who have completed the 240-hour Firefighter course will get extra points.
The agility test will be presented first on May 1st. Participants must have a signed release from their doctor to take the test.
All people passing the agility test will then take the written test on May 8th.
There is a $20 application fee and the application packets can be picked up at City Hall in the Human Resources Office or be downloaded at www.marionohio.us.
The city will be hiring two firefighters from those testing.
