Hansel, Gretel, and the strange old lady in the gingerbread house have been fascinating children since they appeared in the first volume of Grimm’s Fairy Tales nearly 200 years ago. ArtReach, a division of the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, will visit the Marion Palace Theatre on Sunday, May 2 at 3:00 pm with a clever adaptation of “Hansel and Gretel,” by Mary Tensing.
Hansel and Gretel At Palace Theatre

ArtReach, which merged with the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati in 2005, describes their version of “Hansel and Gretel” as a one-hour long “musical romp.” Through colorful sets, song, and dance, Artreach will add a light touch to this mysterious story of two children who, while lost in the woods, discover the truth about that peculiar old lady in the ginger bread cottage who happens to be part giant, part ogre, part elf and part troll. Could she be a witch, too? Only Hansel and Gretel will find out!
“Hansel and Gretel” is a first class live theatre production in a historic theatre, creating an exciting experience for the children – and the adults too! This show is recommended for everyone ages 4 and older, their families and friends. The performance takes place on Sunday, May 2, at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $8 and are available at the Palace Theatre box office during business hours, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm and Saturday, 9am-noon or at the door one hour before the performance starts.
