Popcorn Festival Holding Spring Fling

The Marion Popcorn Festival is hosting a Spring Fling to benefit the Miss Teen Popcorn Scholarship program.  It will take place on Saturday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. at Primrose of Marion located at 1550 Wellness Drive in Marion.

The event, hosted by NBC Channel 4 meteorologist Bob Nunnally, will feature 2009 Miss Teen Popcorn Jessica Swope and her court, Anna Foss, Jennifer St. John, Angelica Dye and Stormee McHargue.  Also on tap for entertainment will be 2009 Miss Teeny Pop Jaycee Bentley and her court, Hanah Reif, Jennifer Moodie, Alexis Ritter, Faith Reid and Faith Colegrove.

Area businesses have generously donated items valued from $4.00 to $2,000.00 which will be available through raffles, a live auction, a silent auction, the “Diamond (ring) Cake Game”, and more.  The Spring Fling, sponsored by Jack’s Pawn Shop and Primrose of Marion, is open to the public and the $3.00 admission price does include appetizers and a chocolate fountain.

The largest popcorn festival in the world with an annual attendance estimated in excess of 250,000, the 30th Marion Popcorn Festival is slated for September 9th, 10th, and 11th.
