Kadi Vermillion stands proudly with her certificate.Elgin West Elementary is pleased and excited to announce the induction of Kadi Vermillion into the AAA Auto Club School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame.

A sixth grader and a second-year Safety Patrol team member, Kadi is one of only 10 students chosen for this honor from a group of nearly 6,000 members in Ohio.

Based on her essay responses and her advisor’s nomination remarks, AAA Traffic Safety Specialist Kelly Kantner said that AAA Auto Club believes Kadi exemplifies the spirit and character of the Safety Patrol and is an exceptional role model for her peers. She is always on time to her post and has volunteered to cover a shift for an absent member. She deals with the students in a polite, yet, mature manner.

As a result of Kadi’s abilities to perform the duties of Safety Patrol to the highest standards, she was selected to act as Captain of the Safety Patrol team for this school year.

“Kadi has taken a position of leadership and always makes sure positions are covered and safety rules are followed,” said Linda Demmitt, safety patrol advisor. “As Captain, Kadi leads by example. She is on time to her post, treats students and adults with care and respect, and is safe. We are proud at Elgin West to have Kadi Vermillion as a valued member of the Safety Patrol team.”
