Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred Thursday, May 14, at 8:23am. The crash occurred on Fairground Road between Madison Avenue and Pole Lane Road, in Marion County.
Bruce B. Jones, age 30, of Marion, Ohio was driving a 1999 Mercury Cougar eastbound on Fairground Road. Gary L. Lovell, age 61, of Marion, Ohio was driving a 1997 Ford F-150 Pick Up Truck westbound on Fairground Road.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle driven by Jones drove left of center striking the Lovell vehicle. Both drivers were transported to Marion General Hospital and later transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion Township Fire Department and the Marion County Garage.
The crash remains under investigation.
