Canned Food, Senior Citizens, and Veterans Day at Fair

The Marion County Fair really gets going today (Monday) as public events get underway. Visitors can get free admission today for bringing canned food with them or simply being a senior citizen or veteran.

From 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, admission for those who are 11-years-old and over is free with a donation of a canned food item. No return hand stamps will be offered. Admission is also free during this time for senior citizens and veterans.

Other items on Monday’s schedule include:

9:00 am – Marion Co. Historical Society Bake Sale at the Log Cabin (Pioneer Green)
9:00 am – Dairy Showmanship followed by Jr. Fair Dairy Breed Show
12 noon – Rides Open
12 noon – Grand Opening at the Coliseum main entrance
1:00 pm – Beef Fitting Contest
1:00 pm – Rabbit Showmanship Clinic
5:00 pm – Swine Showmanship
5:30 pm – Harness Horse Racing at the Grandstands
6-8:30 pm – Nutrition and Miscellaneous Projects Show
7:30 pm – Crop, Shop, Science & Engineering Booth Awards Announced
8:00 pm – 4-H Style Review
8:30 pm – Jr. Fair King and Queen Coronation Program

Daily admission to the Marion County Fair is $6. Children 10 years and under are admitted free. Week long passes are available for $20.

Admission tickets do not include rides. Ride tickets are $1 each. An unlimited ride pass is available for $12.

Grandstand admission is $5, while Pit Passes are $10.
