Equine Therapy Topic of Women’s Business Council Meeting

The kickoff luncheon meeting of this season for the Women’s Business Council will feature an alternative way to reach the next generation of at-risk ladies in our community. Kirsten Stumpo will be joined by Victoria Endicott to highlight the Equine Component and its use in the mental health field.

The luncheon meeting will be Monday, September 13 at the Country Gatherings, 1775 Marion-Waldo Rd, Marion. The program is slated to start with networking at 11:30 a.m. Interested potential new WBC members may check out the day’s luncheon for half price – $6 instead of $12.

Stumpo, Equine Specialist, has contracted with the Marion County Family Court System for over four years providing Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) service to at-risk youth and families.  She facilitates sessions to clients of all ages, by offering a space for individuals to be challenged, promoting growth and opportunities to step outside the box — an ideal arena for self discovery and change.

Co-partner, Endicott specializes in working with children, teenagers and their families. She has written a novel, On River Road, to be published in the fall of 2010. This book was inspired by a real-life personal tragedy and she hopes it will provide an inspiration for others.

If interested in attending the luncheon, you should make reservations by calling Karen Bateman at (740) 375-3806.  The luncheon price will be $12 with the deadline for reservations Thursday, September 9. Please join us to see if you would like to become a member of the Marion Women’s Business Council, an organization dedicated to programming and networking opportunities for women in business.
