Mall Jewelery Store Robbed

A jewelery store at Marion Centre mall was robbed at gunpoint Friday night. The Marion County Sheriff's Office says they received the report at 8:38 pm of a robbery at Kay's Jewelers.

Investigators say two males were in the store looking at merchandise when one of the males showed a handgun to the employees. The other suspect gathered the merchandise from behind the display cases. Both males then fled the area through the main entrance of the mall. The vehicle they were in was possibly a four door, mid-size sedan, either silver or light blue.

The two suspects are described as black males, one being approximately five feet seven inches tall and approximately one hundred and thirty pounds wearing a black baseball cap, long sleeve black shirt and black pants. The other suspect is described as a black male approximately five feet nine inches tall and one hundred and sixty pounds wearing a black baseball cap, long sleeve black shirt and dark blue jean pants with a large tribal tattoo on his forehead extending under his right eye and down the right side of his face to his neck.

Deputies and detectives say they are working to gather evidence to help identify the suspects and solve this crime. Sheriff Bailey is asking that anyone with information surrounding this crime that would help lead to the identification of the suspects and their vehicle to contact the sheriff’s office at 740.382.8244 ext. 0.
