The unemployment rate for Marion County was unchanged in July from June. The rate stands at 11.2 percent. The amount is slightly less than a year ago as the July 2009 rate was 11.4 percent.
The figures released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services estimates there are about 3,500 people unemployed in Marion County.
Marion's rate is nearly a full percent above Ohio's rate of 10.3 percent in July. Across the state, 1,800 jobs were added in July.
The national unemployment rate for July was 9.5 percent, unchanged from June.
