Ohio gas prices are down 8 cents from last week and are a nickel cheaper than the national average.
The latest survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express shows the state's average price for regular-grade gasoline has fallen from $2.76 per gallon last Monday to the current $2.68. The national average for regular is now $2.73.
Analysts think ample supplies of gas will keep prices fairly steady during August, unless a hurricane shuts down oil production in the Gulf of Mexico.
One year ago, Ohioans paid 21 cents less per gallon, when the average was $2.47.
