An investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of two additional burglary suspects. They join four others arrested previously. The two crimes allegedly took place on the same day with one in the City of Marion and the other in the county.
On July 28, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office dispatched deputies to a reported burglary in progress in the 1800 block of Linn Hipsher Road. Deputies say they located the suspects as they fled the area in a Ford SUV. A traffic stop was conducted on the suspect vehicle and two adult males and two juvenile males were subsequently arrested and formally charged with burglary and theft of firearms related to that incident.
Following the traffic stop, detectives executed a search warrant on the suspect’s vehicle and say they located several stolen items. During their investigation, detectives say they learned that some of those items had been reported stolen to the Marion Police Department in a burglary on Powhatten Street. This crime also occurred on July 28.
Through the course of the investigation, three more search warrants were executed by the sheriff’s office. Officials say those search warrants led to the arrest of the subjects allegedly responsible for the Powhatten Street burglary.
Kyle D. Patterson, 18-years-old, of 405 South Vine Street, and a 17-year-old male of Marion were arrested on Friday, August 13, and are awaiting formal charges from the prosecutor’s office. Both of these suspects were also charged in the Linn Hipsher Road burglary as well.
