Man Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Rob Bank

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says they have made an arrest in the attempted bank robbery at Commercial Savings Bank, 195 Barks Road West. A media release says that Vencil William Medley II, 34, of Marion was arrested on Friday, March 23.

The sheriff’s office says on December 23, 2011 Medley entered the bank and passed a note to an employee demanding money. No money was handed over and Medley fled the scene.

The sheriff’s office says they were led to Medley based on forensic evidence at the scene. They did not detail the nature of the evidence.

Medley is expected to be charged with attempted robbery.
