State Representatives Jeff McClain (R-Upper Sandusky) and Dorothy Pelanda (R-Marysville) have announced the passage of House Bill 482, the capital budget bill. Universities statewide will be benefitting from the capital budget bill, including those in Marion County.
H.B. 482 appropriates funds to many projects that will benefit Ohioans across the state. One investment of note is a $400 million investment for Ohio’s universities.
The Ohio State University’s Marion Campus will receive $1,000,000 for renovations to one of its academic buildings, Morrill Hall.
Marion Technical College will receive $124,000 for renovations to its Technical Education Center.
“Although the capital bill was small by traditional standards, I am pleased that two of Marion County's institutions of higher learning were able to benefit from H.B. 482,” said Pelanda. “Education is among my highest legislative priorities, and this is money well spent."
House Bill 482 prioritizes investments to ensure a strong infrastructure, necessary to keeping and creating jobs in Ohio.
