Elgin FFA Chapter Receives Gold Medal Rating

In the Ohio FFA State Association, the Elgin FFA Chapter was one of 40 chapters that recently earned the Gold recognition. The State FFA Association will present this award at the Ohio FFA Convention.

To be eligible for the award, the State FFA Association evaluates each chapter and its involvement in the community over the course of a year. It is then decided if the chapter falls in the gold, silver, or bronze category. Each ranking requires different standards that must be met before the end-of-the-year deadline. The application is compiled from activities in three divisions: student, chapter, and community.

The Elgin FFA is ranked in the top 10 in the state in the student division. Members will be interviewed and the final rankings will be revealed at the State Convention.

The application will now be forwarded to the National FFA as part of the top 10% of applications in Ohio for evaluation and ranking.

The Elgin chapter has been involved in many different FFA CDE competitions, and has been especially involved with its community and its citizens. There is a lot of volunteer work done at the school and many of the members have earned awards for their hard work over the course of the year.

School officials say that being awarded this honor outlines the chapter as one of the most exceptional FFA chapters in all of Ohio.
