City of Marion Cleanup Day

Mayor Scott Schertzer has announced that the City of Marion will sponsor a Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Any City of Marion resident, currently on City Sanitation Service, wishing to dispose of unwanted items can take those items directly to the Marion County Solid Waste Transfer Station, 1564 Victory Road (directly east of the Marion Correctional Institute).

Proof of current city sanitation service will be required. Hours of operation will be from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Yard waste, appliances, tires, regular garbage, or hazardous materials will not be accepted.

Mayor Schertzer reminds City residents that this drop off is free.

For questions on acceptable items, contact the City Sanitation and Streets Department at (740) 382-1479.
