Daryl Gates, president and CEO of The Morral Companies, and Robert Sanner, assistant vice president for mortgage lending at Fahey Bank, have been named to the Marion General Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.
Both have been appointed to serve a three-year term, according to Phyllis S. Butterworth, director of development for the Foundation.
Gates joined Morral Companies in 1987. He is a past president of the Ohio Agri- Business Association and past board member of the Agricultural Retailers Association. Currently, Gates is a member of The Fertilizer Institute Board, based in Washington D.C. He also serves on the Governor’s Advisory Committee with the Ohio Department of Agriculture and the Ohio Department of Agriculture Water Quality Committee.
Gates is a graduate of The Ohio State University’s Fisher School of Business. He and his wife, Valerie, are the parents of four sons.
Gates is a member of the Marion Rotary Club. He is a past member of the Marion General Hospital Board of Directors and a past member and chairman of the hospital’s Mission and Strategy Committee. He is also a past member of the YMCA Board of Directors and River Valley Board of Education. He is treasurer of The Marion Area Chamber of Commerce and is a past Chamber chairman. He is a member of The OSU Marion Board of Trustees, and the Marion Red Cross Board of Directors. Gates is also a member of the Fetter/Morral Relay for Life Team.
A resident of Marion since August 1983, Bob Sanner has been with the Fahey Bank since October 1998 and currently serves as assistant vice president for mortgage lending.
Sanner also is involved in the Marion community. He is president of the Marion City Recreation and Parks Advisory Board; vice chairman and past president of the Marion County Council on Aging; president of the Marion City Board of Zoning Appeals, and serves as a Marion Area Chamber of Commerce ambassador. He is a past president of the Marion County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Sanner resides in Marion with his wife, Vicki.
Marion General Hospital Foundation was established in 1984, for the support of healthcare facilities and programs in our community. The Marion General Hospital Foundation is governed by a 13-member Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of area business leaders, physicians and community representatives who oversee the Foundation’s philanthropy efforts and manage allocation of funds.
The Foundation is dedicated to obtaining charitable contributions and then managing and distributing those funds so that the hospital can fulfill its mission: “To improve the health of those we serve.” The Foundation advances healthcare in our community through advocacy, philanthropy, education, stewardship, and relationships.
