The Shepherd's Fellowship in Marion is hosting free music lessons every other Thursday through the summer. The next classes are set for Thursday, June 28. They have instructors for guitar, bass guitar, and drums who are volunteering their time to help students.
If you are looking for instruction for other instruments, organizers say you should let them know and they may be able to work it into the classes.
Students should have their own instruments, but the church does have a couple on hand to help those who are still working on obtaining their own.
Space is somewhat limited as they are trying to keep the classes to five students for each instructor. In a couple areas, they have extra instructors if more kids are interested.
The lessons are at the church, 1647 Marion Marysville Road (State Route 4 just south of Barks Road in Marion). Class times are:
- Guitar-4:30 to 5:30 (fellowship building)
- Drums-5:30 to 6:30 (fellowship building)
- Bass-5:30 to 6:30 (kids barn)
