As has become a tradition at Marion General Hospital, members of the EMS community were recently honored at a breakfast that was held at the hospital. This annual event recognizes the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services on the medical "front line."
Chaplain Dan Kiger opened the program with the invocation, followed by a welcome from John Sanders, hospital president; GailLoadman, Marion General’s director of clinical excellence and emergency services; Dr. Christina Tulenko, medical director of the emergency department, and Keith Severns, EMS coordinator.
Marion Mayor Scott Schertzer presented a Proclamation of Celebration of EMS Week, with a theme of EMS. More than a job. A calling, to Dr. Larry Lewis, EMS medical director for Marion General.
The program included the introduction of students from the Tri-Rivers/Marion General Hospital School of Paramedicine EMS courses, by Tylor Gray, chief of public safety training, and Jessica George, EMS/clinical coordinator, both for Tri-rivers Career Center. The breakfast concluded with the presentation of gifts donated by many area businesses.
