Waldo Business Celebrates 50 Years, Raises Funds for Veterans Park

The G&R Tavern in Waldo celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 9, 2012 with a raffle for a 55” Visio television. The winner of the television was Corky Thomas of Marion. The big winner, however, was Veterans Memorial Park in Marion.

The proceeds from the raffle were donated to Veterans Park to aid in replacing all of the outdated lighting.

Pictured receiving the check for $3,000 is Steve “Rowdy” Victor, President of Veterans Memorial Park Association. Presenting the check are G&R owners Joy Lewis on the left and Mary Blevins on the right.

In addition to the television, other prizes were passed out every half hour.

The G&R wants to thank everyone who donated to this worthy cause.
