Aqua Ohio, Inc. (Aqua) has announced three new water line replacement projects in the City of Marion with combined project costs of $425,000. The projects involve the replacement of 3,335 linear feet of aging, undersized water mains and related infrastructure.
“We continually seek to improve service and reliability while managing costs,” said Aqua Area Manager, Scott Ballenger. “This investment in the Marion water system is important because it will improve both reliability and fire protection for residents in the area.”
Key system improvements related to this project include:
- Replace a 75 year old 6-inch and 2-inch water transmission lines with new 8-inch line along Milburn Ave. from Silver Street to May Street;
- Replace water lines along Marshall, Roma, Gay and Meadow Streets;
- Relocate water lines to accommodate the City of Marion’s Milburn Avenue Sewer
Improvement Project;
- Add eight new fire hydrants to improve water access for emergency responders;
- New service connections for customers in the project area.
Construction is scheduled to begin the week of July 30 and completed by the end of October. Customers who have questions may call the Aqua Customer Service Center toll-free at 877.WTR.AQUA (877.987.2782).
