The Marion Family YMCA announces openings for their licensed preschool program, and is now accepting registration for the fall of 2012. Openings exist in both part time classrooms: two and a half and three year olds’ class times are Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 – 11:00 am; and four and five year olds’ class times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:15 am – Noon. Both classes start for the school year in September.
The Y says their preschool program is more than just child care opportunities. Certified, professional, and caring staff members work hard to create a nurturing learning environment where all participants can thrive. The program focuses on preparing children for kindergarten by instructing on the key skills needed for early educational success, as well as building strong social skills. Learning how to behave in a large group setting can be the most challenging change for future kindergarteners, and the program exposes them to a controlled, large group setting that will help them succeed in kindergarten.
The Y provides financial assistance with preschool fees for families who demonstrate financial need. Parents must complete a financial assistance application and provide income documentation. Financial assistance applications are available online at www.marionymca.org, at the Wopat YMCA Center, or by calling 740-725-9622.
Parents may register their children for fall now at the Wopat YMCA Center, 645 Barks Road East in Marion, or for further details, contact Preschool Administrator Evan Shanley at 740-725-9622, or go to our website at www.marionymca.org.
