In response to the remaining power outages in Marion County, the Marion County Chapter of the American Red Cross has a cooling station open at the Chapter House located at 1849 Summerset Dr. in Marion. The cooling station will be open until 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
With temperatures expected to soar again on Friday, the local Red Cross says they anticipate opening the cooling station again.
Persons wishing to use the facility need just stop in and it is suggested to bring items along to entertain youngsters and others to help pass the time. Because of health and safety concerns, pets cannot accompany their owners into the cooling station.
