Colgrove Crowned 2012 Miss Teeny Pop

Faith Colgrove was chosen Miss Teeny Pop 2012 Saturday during competition at River Valley High School.  The 12-year also won overall talent, as well as her age group in:  Modeling and Commercial.  Colgrove is in the 7th grade at River Valley Middle School.  She is the granddaughter of Paul and Melissa Hines, and the daughter of Tim Colgrove and Paula Dildine.

Colgrove said she was “stunned” and “happy” and surprised to win.  “It was my 4th year of competing and I didn’t even make the court last year,” said Colgrove, “I wasn’t even sure about making it this year with everyone being so good.”

As Miss Teeny Pop, Colgrove will be featured at all Festival activities, including the Festival’s Orville Redenbacher Parade and performing from the main stage.  She will also make numerous appearances throughout Ohio during the coming year. 

First Runner Up went to 9-year-old Chloe Oliver, who also headed her age group in Talent, Commercial and Photogenic.  The daughter of Marissa and Douglas Oliver, she is in the 4th grade at George Washington Elementary School.

Twelve-year-old Alexis Ritter seized the Second Runner-Up position, as well as nabbing overall Modeling and winning her age division in Talent.  A 7th grader, she attends River Valley Middle School and is the daughter of Lorri and Tyl Ritter.

Capturing Third Runner Up was MacKenzie Warner.  The 12-year-old daughter of Jessica and Mark Warner and is in the 7th grade at River Valley Middle School.  She won her age division in Photogenic.

Olivia Fogle is Fourth Runner Up and in the 4th grade at Heritage Elementary School.  She is the 10-year-old daughter of Lara and Mike Fogle.

Taking Fifth Runner Up was Sophia Thompson.  She is a 9-year-old student at Mt. Gilead where she is in the 4th grade.  Her parents are Michelle Thompson and Doug Thompson.

Contestants competed in three categories, Modeling, Talent and Commercial where contestants perform an “advertisement” regarding the Marion Popcorn Festival.

Receiving Honorable Mention awards were:  Alivia Burris, Madisyn Schwartz, Madisyn Houseworth, Amelia Long, Annika Musser, Miranda McConnaugley, Sabrina Clayton, Brooklynn DeGood, Karington Reed, and Jessica Bayles.

Mackenzie Warner was the winner of the Joe Maniaci Memorial Photogenic Award.  This is a separate competition and entering is optional.  The results have no bearing on the Miss Teeny Pop results.
