Judge Candidate Holding Ice Cream Social

The public is invited to an ice cream social this Sunday, August 26, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at McKinley Park in Marion. The event, which is sponsored by the Slagle for Judge Campaign, will feature ice cream, cake, music, and games for all ages.

“This is an opportunity for some outdoor fun before the end of summer. We are trying to reach out to people who don’t normally attend political events,” stated Jim Slagle.

Slagle is a candidate for Judge of the Marion County Common Pleas Court General Division. Slagle is seeking the January 1 term, which is currently held by Robert Davidson. Slagle, Davidson, and Kevin Collins are all vying for this position which is responsible for felony criminal cases and major civil lawsuits.

Slagle has over 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer. He served for 24 years as Marion County Prosecuting Attorney. More recently, he was the Criminal Justice Chief for the Ohio Attorney General where he led a team of 35 lawyers who handled criminal and civil litigation in the state and federal courts.

Campaign donations will be accepted at the event, but are not required.
