A television and electronics recycling collection will be held on Saturday, August 11, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Marion County Fairgrounds. Computers, monitors, cables, keyboards, hard drives (guaranteed data destruction), stereos, televisions, cell phones, batteries, cameras, game systems, fax machines, copiers, video players, speakers, and other such electronic devices will be accepted.
There is a $10 fee for televisions, but all other electronics are free.
In addition to helping protect the environment by recycling, participants will be entered in a drawing for a new flat-screen TV.
“Please do your part by disposing of electronic waste with certified, environmentally safe recyclers,” asked Angela Carbetta, director of Marion County Recycling and Litter Prevention.
