The Chief of the Marion Police Department stopped a vehicle Wednesday after police received a tip regarding to suspicious people. That tip resulted in the arrest of two individuals accused of a burglary that had occurred a short time earlier.
On Wednesday, August 15, an alert resident called police about two suspicious young men carrying a TV and a rifle in an alley on East Church Street.
The two suspects got into a vehicle and left the area. Chief Tom Bell spotted the vehicle and stopped it on Olney Avenue in the area of Bellefontaine Avenue.
During the course of the investigation, police say it was found that a home in the 500 block of East Church Street had just been allegedly burglarized by the two male subjects in the car.
Police arrested Kristopher Currington, 19, of Marion, for Aggravated Burglary and a Warrant for Receiving Stolen Property. They also arrested Michael Davis, 19, of Marion, for Aggravated Burglary.
Investigators say they believe all the property stolen has been recovered.
