The Marion City Council Finance Committee and Legislation, Codes, and Regulations Committee will meet on Monday, August 6. Topics on the agendas include cooperation with the County Commissioners, City Hall HVAC system, and the demolition of nuisance properties.
Finance Committee will meet at 6:30 pm to approve a transfer as well as discuss partially rehabbing the HVAC system at City Hall. The Committee also plans to continue their discussion with Marion County Commissioner Ken Stiverson regarding working together on a sales tax increase and forming a countywide dispatch center.
Legislation, Codes, and Regulations Committee will meet at 6:45 pm to discuss a new liquor permit for Curtis Prise (dba Maury’s on Main) at 138 South Main Street. The Committee will also hear a proposal by Councilman Josh Daniels regarding the demolition of nuisance properties.
City Council Committees meet on the second floor of City Hall and the meetings are open to the public.
