Aqua Ohio, Inc. (Aqua) has announced a water line replacement project in the City of Marion with a project cost of nearly $145,000. The project involves the replacement of 600 linear feet of aging, undersized water mains and related infrastructure.
“Aqua is making a major commitment to replacing problematic and undersized water lines in the Marion system,” said Aqua Area Manager, Scott Ballenger. “We have water mains in the city that are approaching 100 years old. We are prioritizing them for replacement based on their history of breaks and the need for increased pressure in the area.”
Key system improvements related to this project include:
- The replacement of 200 feet of 6-inch and 400 feet of 2-inch water line with 8-inch water line to improve water pressure,
- Replace one old fire hydrant and install a new hydrant which will improve fire protection for you and your neighbors
- New service connections and meters for the properties along the construction route.
Construction is scheduled to begin the last week of August and completed by the end of October. Customers who have questions may call the Aqua Customer Service Center toll-free at 877.WTR.AQUA (877.987.2782).
